Charge to the Committee on Diversity and Civility


The School of Education's Committee on Diversity and Civility (CODC) is charged with seeking ways to promote a culture of inclusion and civility within the classroom and workplace.

Examples of activities aligned with the charge include:

  • Reviewing school policies to ensure that they are inclusive (for example, faculty and staff search policies)

  • Contributing to the school’s annual diversity report submitted to the Provost’s Office

  • Conducts and/or responds to climate surveys

  • Organizes professional development for faculty, staff, students, and alumni

  • Fostering knowledge and understanding

  • Identifying opportunities to further promote inclusion and civility within the School.
